Melt Your Resistance (an Explore & Play Class)

How often have you wanted to do something, really wanted it, but then find yourself not actually doing it? Sometimes you recognize the resistance and its usual emotion fear, other times, it’s sneaky and masquerades as something else.

Resistance also comes up frequently with things you need to do, but don’t necessarily want to do.

Regardless of why you experience resistance, there are ways to melt it. Soft, safe, gentle ways, that let you get the things done that you want or need to do.

During the next Explore & Play Class on Tuesday, June 12th, I’ll share with you some ways to identify your resistance and how to melt it. No self-recrimination or self-flagellation required.

To help me cover the information most helpful to you, I’d love to know a little more about your experience with resistance. How frequently do you experience it? What do you normally do when run up against it?

UPDATE

The class is over an now available for your listening (and learning) pleasure. Learn how to gently melt resistance when it comes up, and how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

  • I’d love to melt my resistance around blogging regularly. I know it would benefit me and my business, but I can’t seem to get myself in the groove around it. Can’t wait to hear more on the Explore and Play call!

  • I used to have huge (and frequent) resistance issues surrounding money, but you helped me get rid of those. Right now, I think I’m experiencing resistance on tasks that I feel obligated to do, but that I don’t really want to do. I think that guilt plays in to the equation. That and the fear that often accompanies procrastination.

In the best-case scenario when I run up against resistance, I try to explore what that the resistance is about. In the worst-case scenario, I just stop thinking about the thing I’m resisting until I come up against a hard and fast deadline. Then I do it in stress mode. That’s less than optimal!

  • I absolutely have resistance around money issues. I also have resistance around the stuff that’s important to me, stuff I *want* to do, but maybe I’m afraid of change, or failure, or That Thing That Happened Last Time I Tried It … I’d love to have some gentle ways to work with the resistance, so I’m looking forward to the Explore & Play call!
