Are you a Peaceful Warrior?

I recently finished Dan Millman’s book, Way of the Peaceful Warrior: A Book That Changes Lives, and the follow-up, Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior: A Companion to the Book That Changes Lives. As I wrote on my blog about reading (I Love Books!) one of the things that made the books so compelling for me, was the “normalness” of Dan. He didn’t have a particularly wonderful or horrible life — places we often think we need to be for things to really change. Instead, he took his everyday, regular human-ness, and found something greater within himself, and could see the world in a different way.

This is just what I hope to do with my clients — help them find something greater within themselves. We’re used to looking outside ourselves for happiness, whether it’s more things, better jobs, different relationships. Maybe you can’t even put your finger on exactly what’s missing, because on paper, you have a great life. But, like Dan Millman you feel like you aren’t as happy as you could be. Read this or another book, meditate, talk to a friend, hire a coach, do something to have the happiness you deserve.
